Festivals Kitimat wants YOU to participate in all of our exciting events this summer starting June 6th- July 5th 2009!

 

·        June 6th- “Dragon Boat Regatta”- Start off our celebrations early with the “Dragon Boat Regatta Challenge” at Minette Bay Marina. For more information contact Karla Stratford @250-632-5988

 

·   June 13th- “BULL-0-RAMA”- Throw on your western wear everyone! 30 Bulls & 30 cowboys will be in the Tamitik Arena from 7:00-9:00pm. Also a beer garden and dance to “Shades of Grey” Yee ha!  For more information contact Jack Oviatt @250-632-6740

 

·   June 20th- First Annual “Fun Run/Walk”- Come and join the community for it’s first annual run/walk festival. Register @ Riverlodge.

 

·   July 1st- Canada Day Celebrations (See Below)

 

·   July 4th- The First Annual Dave Saunders “Hill Climb”Get your motors running- Kitimat is about to experience a restart of a much missed community event. This year will mark the “First Annual Dave Saunders Hill Climb.” Kitimat has been without a Hill Climb event for a decade-the last one took place in 1999. One of the first races allowed on city streets attracting thousands! Come join the fun at this exciting event!

Start July 1st with...

  • Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast - 7:00 - 11:00 am at the upper City Centre Mall.
  • There will be a free bus service on July 1st from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. There will also be Taxi Dart available until 7:15 pm.
  • Canada Day Parade starting at 12:00 pm at Mountainview Square bound for Riverlodge.
  • International Food Fair starting at 1:00 pm at Riverlodge. Some vendors include: Filcan Society, Luso Canadian Club, Pizza Factory, L & M Fries, Dragon Cafe, The Sikh Society and more!
  • What's a birthday without cake? The Girl Guides are making this year's Canada Day birthday cake.
  • Helicopter Rides will be at Riverlodge Ballfield #2 brought to you by Canadian Helicopters.
  • The Kitimat Humane Society is hosting the Duck Pond at 1:00 pm, Riverlodge.
  • Pony Rides will be in front of Riverlodge brought to you by the Kitimat 4H Club.
  • The 6th Annual "Show & Shine" will take place at the Tamitik Arena from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.
  • The Kids Fun Zone is from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Riverlodge.

 

·    International Kite Flying- International Kite Flyer will be flying his Kites he used to compete in China, children will have a chance to make their own kites aswell!

  • The Kitimat Fire Department is once again putting on an amazing fireworks display at Riverlodge, 11:00 pm.
